Automatic Acceptance

This list is stuff I like. If you like some of this stuff, it means we have common ground. If you like all of this stuff, you're a stalker— go away.

Dogs
YAY!! We now have a Lorca!
The Simpsons
It is unfathomable to me that anyone would NOT love this show.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
South Park
Didja see the one with the gnomes?
Jonathan Carroll
I became obsessed with this author several years ago when my friend Andrew Gregor bought a copy of Sleeping in Flame at Half-Price Books because he liked the cover. Jonathan Carroll writes amazing fairy tales for adults and I have now collected all of his books. It wasn't easy. His books can be elusive. Check out his website.
Neil Gaiman
Author of the only comic books I have ever read, or want to read. They are wonderful, beautiful and scary. And Dave has a signed 75 of Sandman!
NPR
Ah, Ray Suarez...
Fog not sun
We are now in the sunniest part of the city, though.
"Who said little!"
The Love Boat?... Anyone?
John Anderson
Remember? Pre- (pre-pre) Ralph Nader?
Cindy Sherman
Kick-ass self-portrait photographer
Ivan Albright
Kick-ass painter of the most horrifying portraits I've ever seen. And he looks like someone's little old grandpa.
pro-choice
Well, pro-abortion, if you want the truth.
Ernie Pook's Comeek/ Lynda Barry
Cruddy and One! Hundred! Demons! are great books, too.
Haiku
When all else fails and the Zoloft just isn't kicking in- write haiku. You will feel much better. Look at my haiku page.

Sweeney Sisters
"Bells."

Former List Items:
Sax players
I used to think the sax was cool... but Kenny G pretty much ruined that for me.
I Love Lucy
I think I've peaked with the whole Nick at Nite line-up. But Ricky Ricardo is still the best dresser on film, EVER. Except for those Nation of Islam guys in Malcolm X. That scene where they're walking in slo-mo and Denzel is in front in his trenchcoat and hat? Daaaaaaamn.
Ballroom dance
I like swing dancing and all that, but the fact is I've had plenty of opportunity to get involved with it and I just haven't. That tells me something.

Audrey Hepburn
I love her, but when someone else tells me they love her I get this weird proprietary jealousy feeling that is not pleasant. At the SPCA they call it "object guarding." It is bad in dogs, and just plain wrong for me.
And I am not pleased about this Charade remake, The Truth About Charlie. Hmph. And they also did a re-make of Paris When It Sizzles, which, frankly, was none too good a movie in the first place. Now it's Alex & Emma, starring ((shudder)) Kate Hudson.
