Public! And during the Ross Perot years in Dallas, at that!

Nerd or cool?
Well, my friend Carolee and I were able to move among the cliques pretty successfully, but I don't think we were "cool." Perhaps we were just "non-threatening."

My first job was in seventh grade, selling aluminum siding over the phone. My friend Carolee's parents had an aluminum siding business.

How many jobs have you had?
Not counting acting jobs: aluminum siding thing, work study in college, bartender, customer service rep, waitress, web designer... there are more and a lot of them are temp jobs, so it's hard to say

Do you play an instrument? Do you paint or draw? Do you write poetry or stories?
In elementary school and junior high I played piano, violin and French horn. I don't play anything now, but I sing. When I was in the first grade, I won an art contest. Unfortunately, my drawing skills have not improved much since then, so I don't paint or draw-- but I do throw (well-- I CAN throw) and make Sculpey stuff that's pretty good. I do not write, but I read everything.

The Juliet Letters, Elvis Costello and the Brodsky Quartet

What's your brush with fame?
I went to high school with Elizabeth Mitchell and Roy Hargrove; Norah Jones and Edie Brickell went to my high school, but not while I was there; I once slept in Kimberly Williams's bed (no, she wasn't in it).

No, though I've heard some weird ones, like Jamie Lee Curtis, Thomas Dolby's sister, and Stuart Copeland in the dark. But my mom thinks I look like Demi Moore in my headshot! And that's why we have moms.

Holly Hunter or a border collie

Handbag, purse or wallet?
Wallet, lately. I'm on some sort of minimalist kick.

What is your ultimate dream appliance/ household product?
At this point, a dishwasher would be great

Fashion fantasy item?
Beyond the continuous quest for the perfect black (or red) dress, I don't know

What do you drink?
Booze: vanilla vodka and soda (60 calories). Margarita on the rocks with salt (4 million calories), Champagne cocktail

    Used to love. I now prefer the cake.

Who is your best friend - and why?
Aside from the monkey, it's Shannon. She's funny, understanding, smart and hasn't let me down yet after 16 years.

Who is the person (that you actually know and have to interact with) that you cannot stand - and why
Lately it's a person I just met, who desperately needs lessons in Human 101 and who I do not have time to teach

How did you meet your SO? How long have y'all been together?
We met doing The Merry Wives of Windsor (Mistress Ford/ Slender) and Henry V (Katharine/ Montjoy) at Shakespeare and Company in White Bear Lake, MN.

Marriage - pro or no?
Well, duh.

Children - pro or no?
I'm not anti-child, but I prefer adoption to pregnancy.

What time do you get up in the morning?
5:30AM

Do you have a nickname?
Not that I'm aware of....except that Dave and I call each other all sorts of things like chicken, squirrel, monkey, etc; Shannon calls me Katya

What do you collect?
Jonathan Carroll books. I really don't like having a lot of STUFF.

What is your true phobia?
Don't. Like. Snakes. No snakes please! Snakes exit this way!

What's your biggest pet peeve?
Lack of personal responsibility. This covers a number of annoying habits, such as littering, not picking up after yourself, not signaling when driving, etc. Just think how much cleaner/ nicer/ more polite the world would be if we all just took responsibility for our own actions.

Dream Vacation?
World tour including London, Paris, Venice, Greece, The Great Barrier Reef and Hawaii.

Best Physical Feature?
My nose. It's a good nose. Dave has a nice nose too, so if we ever do decide to breed, the kid is set for noses! I mean nose.

Best Personality Feature?
Funny squirrel

Introvert or Extrovert?
Both! It totally depends on the situation.

Worst New Year's?
The year we moved into SF. Horrible long story.

Best Christmas present?
My business card holder from Dave... it was also my marriage proposal (it was engraved with his/ my initials)

Personal philosophy?
Do what you say you're going to do. Always bring a book. Pee before you leave. Don't be afraid of looking like an idiot. If you try and fail, then at least you know. Don't be afraid of everything. Use your head. Calm down. Don't think so much. Plan ahead. Make a list. Always be kind to animals. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It doesn't matter if things happen "for a reason" or not... if it's happened, it's happened. Move forward.
